Mary Claire’s Place-Emergency SHELTER

A Safe Haven in Times of Crisis
Mary Claire’s Place provides immediate, secure housing for individuals escaping domestic violence and abuse.

All services are completely free of charge, and the shelter is located at a confidential location to ensure the highest level of safety for those in immediate danger or at risk of being found by their abuser. Your safety is our top priority.

Trauma Recovery Counseling

Our highly trained counselors specialize in trauma-informed, culturally competent care, providing free, confidential individual therapy for adults and children impacted by violence. We support survivors at every stage of healing—whether they are processing recent trauma or continuing their long-term recovery.

Services are available in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for our diverse community. Our compassionate team creates a safe, supportive space where survivors can explore their experiences, build resilience, and work toward holistic emotional and mental well-being.

Hope Community Clinic: Forensic Medical Exams

Our amazing team of medical professionals provide compassionate healthcare to the Greater New Orleans community. Our Partners at Hope Community Clinc provides forensic medical exams that are always free of charge to survivors. We specialize in trauma-informed healthcare helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and in control of the process. Our forensic and healthcare services are available from 8:00 am-4:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Call us at 504-503-0878 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Playland

Playland provides children with a safe environment to play while their parent or caregiver receives support services on-site at our office.

Child Counseling & Early Childhood Services

We offer free, trauma-informed counseling for child survivors of abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault, as well as children impacted by a caregiver’s trauma. Our licensed therapists use age-appropriate methods like play therapy and ABA to help children express emotions, build coping skills, and feel safe. For ages 0–5, we provide specialized early childhood counseling, including psychological assessments and behavioral health screenings tailored to each child’s needs.

Pathways youth mentoring program & Camp Hope- louisiana Chapter

Camp HOPE America Our Louisiana Chapter is year-round mentoring program and a summer camp experience for children and teens impacted by the truama of domestic violence. We are focused on creating hope and healing-centered pathways through collaborative, trauma-informed care for youth exposed to trauma to believe in themselves, in others, and in their dreams.
