Candlelight Vigil: For Lives Lost to Domestic Violence
Join us in remembrance and healing as we honor victims of domestic violence. Community members will lead our reflection through poetry, song and prayer. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picture of loved ones so that their presence may be felt. A part of this Vigil will be reading and honoring the names of victims who have been killed in the past year due to domestic violence in Louisiana, creating space for their names, calling attention to their deaths and honoring their lives.
This is hosted off-site at Audubon Park, *not* at the NOFJC, but coordinated by our NOFJC Emergency Shelter Crescent House with other community partners. This is an Annual Candlelight Vigil that the agency has hosted for many years.
When: October 16th, Time: 5:30 p.m.
LOCATION: AUDUBON PARK, 6500 Magazine Street New Orleans, Louisiana 70118
If transportation is a challenge we’re coordinating a shuttle from the Main NOFJC offices to leave at 5pm. Let us know if you'd like a ride to the vigil, returning at 730p.
If available to you, please invite family and friends to help us bring awareness and inform our community, state and the nation to help put an end to Domestic Violence. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to ask.
