Benjamin Watson Supports the New Orleans Family Justice Center! March 28, 2016
We, at the New Orleans Family Justice Alliance, are thrilled to be Benjamin Watson’s recipient of his last project while in New Orleans! Our forever Saint is promoting the NOFJC and is matching donations to us from March 28 through April 3, through his One More Foundation!
Help support the New Orleans Family Justice Alliance and help #OneMoreSurvivor! To donate, please visit http://www.thebenjaminwatson.com/ — or go to https://nofjc.org/get-involved/donate/. The NOFJC provides counseling, shelter, housing and other supports to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and their children.
While assisting adult survivors, we can’t forget the youngest victims, the children.
So many children who experience trauma and abuse end up experiencing life-long problems – including increased risks for being abused as adults, becoming perpetrators, failing in schools, and entering the criminal justice system. Through interventions such as counseling, which we provide at the NOFJC, and projects such as a Camp Hope – a replication of the Alliance For Hope International’s Camp Hope model (http://www.camphopeamerica.org/) – which we aim to start in 2017, we strive to address the holistic needs child survivors have in overcoming abuse and neglect. Through our work with children, our goal is to stem the tide of abuse and victimization. Funds raised through this project will go, in part, toward seeing Camp Hope started in Louisiana in 2017.
