New Orleans Family Justice Center

The New Orleans Family Justice Center opened on August 28, 2007 with support from established community advocates, city leaders and the U. S. Department of Justice. According to Casey Gwinn, founder of the FJC model, “New Orleans FJC has since become one of the leading Family Justice Centers in the United States”.
The NOFJC has led the way in bring together community-based domestic violence and sexual assault providers as well as criminal justice and law enforcement professionals to provide wrap-around and comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and child abuse.
The NOFJC became the rallying point for rebuilding more effective and comprehensive service delivery advocating for significant criminal justice reform in Orleans Parish after the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
